MOLECULAR ENTOMOLOGIST/BIOLOGIST

AMCD is searching for a Molecular Entomologist/Biologist who will join the AMCD team to conduct surveillance of arbovirus and other mosquito-borne diseases, especially arbovirus surveillance by mosquito pooling and molecular or other new technology.  The Molecular Entomologist/Biologist will manage the molecular laboratory and other related laboratory facilities and equipment.  Other duties include evaluation of insecticides, equipment, and new control agents, and suprervising the laboratory technician, intern students and visiting sciientists, and other related work based on the District's needs. 

This is a full time, exempt employee position, with full benefits. 

Qualifications required for the position are:
   Ph.D. in Entomology or Molecular Biology,
   mosquito research and control experience preferrred,
   Public Health Pest Control License required within 6 months of employment

Expected Start Date:  January 2020
Annual Salary: $56,561

FULL TIME CHIEF PILOT / AVIATION MANAGER for MOSQUITO CONTROL

The Anastasia Mosquito Control District is in search of an experienced FULL TIME CHIEF PILOT, as the Aviation Manager for the New Aviation Department.  The Chief Pilot/Aviation Manager will directly report to the District Director and supervise a full time A & P Helicopter Mechanic and ground crew of mosquito control technicians who conduct aerial applications.

Must Have:  at least three (3) years of mosquito control experience, at least 500 hours of Bell 206 helicopter flight time, and experience in low level or agricultural spraying.  Must also have Night Vision Goggle experience and/or certification.

Must Hold: a current FAA Commercial Pilot's License (or higher) with helicopter endorsement, a current PHPC License and a current public health aerial license or obtain both within six (6) months of hire date, and a current class II or higher FAA Medical Certificate.

Full Time position with full benefits:  $35 per hour to begin or negotiable based on experience, must be 18 years of age or older and have a valid driver's license, and a high school diploma (College Degree preferred).  Background, driver's license checks and drug screens mandatory and training provided.
