AMCD is searching for a Full time Entomologist-Scientific Manager who will join the AMCD team. This is a full time, exempt employee position with full benefits after 180 day probationary period (90 days for Health Insurances). The annual salary will be $79,500.     

Duties and responsibilities: will be in charge of all Scientific Departments, projects, and the supervision of 2-3 Scientists; supervise and conduct operational surveillance and field studies in entomological research within the District; provide scientific analysis of collection of data and identification of mosquito species for scheduling larviciding and adulticiding activities in the District; develop and operate public awareness programs and employee training programs to enhance knowledge of mosquito biology and further understanding of the District's mission and goals.

Qualifications: a Ph.D. in Entomology, Zoology, Biology, or related scientific field, with at least 8 years of experience in the field of biology and control of mosquitoes and 5 years of experience in a supervisory position; publication in peer-reviewed journals also recommended.

Must hold a current public health pest control license or obtain one within six (6) months from date of hire, must be 18 years of age or older and have a valid Florida Driver's License, Background, Driver's license checks mandatory.
