FULL-TIME BIOLOGICAL TECHNICIAN (Laboratory Manager)

AMCD is searching for a Biological Technician, as the laboratory manager;
to coordinate, plan, and schedule laboratory equipment usage, inventory,
reagent ordering and purchase, chemical safety, insectary, fish tanks,
future green house, screened cages, wind tunnel, droplet lab, larvacide testing pools,
and assist, as well as, support scientists to run the applied research projects
and assist the District's intern student training and education program as needed.
Based on the District's needs, the Biological Technician will be a member of the
AMCD's Research Committee and may participate in the arbovirus and
mosquito population surveillance as needed.

The Position begins: late May 2017 and is Full Time
with Full Benefits (based on policy probation periods).
The Salary Range is in Grade 4: Beginning at $16.94 per hour to $27.11 per hour, based on the person's education and experience (especially mosquito control experience).

Qualifications:  At least a B.S. Degree in Entomology, Biology, and/or Environmental Science, with at least three years of experience in the field of biology and control of arthropods of medical and veterinary importance and 2 years laboratory management experience.
