KEYNOTE SPEAKER

     Dr. Theodore G. Andreadis, Director, the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station, Center for Vector Biology and Zoonotic Diseases, 123 Huntington St., New Haven, CT 06511

  • Presentation Title: Reflections on the Ecology and Epidemiology of Mosquito-borne Viruses in Connecticut: An Analysis from 20 Years of Research and Surveillance.

  2. Presentation: on malaria vectors in India.
  3. Dr. Vincent Corbel, Institute de recherché pour le Development, Montpellier, France
  4. Presentation: on the progress and achievements of the World Insecticide Resistance Network (WIN project).
  5. Dr. Vindhya Aryaprema, Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka
  6. Presentation: on the outbreak of Dengue fever and the vector control efforts in Sri Lanka.
  7. Dr. Mustapha Debboun, Director of Mosquito Control Division, Harris County, Houston, Texas
  8. Presentation: on mosquito control in Houston, Texas

Dr. Dawn Allicock, Director, Department of Health, St. Johns County will also give a presentation about Health Service Excellence in St. Johns County, Florida during the Tuesday Dinner.

The sessions will include Arbovirus, especially the Zika response report, mosquito control response after the hurricane, new technology and methods for attractant, trapping and repellency, and insecticide and control methods.

 

There are more than 50 presentations in the three day workshop.

PURPOSE:  To exchange and share information about mosquito-borne disease and vector mosquito population surveillance data, review recent developed techniques for surveillance and control of mosquitoes, and provide training for professional employees.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Mosquito control Directors/Administrators, Commissioners, Entomologists/Biologists, Epidemiologists, mosquito control technicians/workers, field inspector/sprayers/technicians, public health workers, and Veterinrians.

REGISTRATION and MATERIALS:  $50.00 per day or $150 for 3 day session, includes workshop programs and materials, working lunches (3), and refreshments during breaks, as well as 1 dinner.  Cash, money order, or check will be accepted for the registration fee.  You can also utilize Paypal for making payment.
